October Giveaway Winner

Happy Nov 1st....... where has the year gone!!!!  Apologies for the late post.  We've been without the internet for hours after a power cut across the town and it's ground me to a halt today.  Now I'm playing catch up with a late night ahead.
I had a fab few days away at my sisters and a wonderful Birthday by the sea.  We ate like kings, had the best butternut squash soup I've ever tasted at Trebah Gardens, spent time on the beach and generally bimbled about.
We checked out the huge ships, six I think, in the docks too. Unlike Annie, I didn't get one of the normal sized yachts in my pic to give a perspective on how mahusive this one was............

The Craft Fair at Lanhydrock went well too.Fair Julie and Sam did a grand job on the stand, thank you both and thank you to everyone who called by the stand, shopped with us and joined me for a make or take.  It really was lovely to see you all.

We'll be back at the next show on Saturday 10th March 2018.

It's a Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland Advent Calendar 1 Clare Charvill Graphic 45
Morning, how's your week going?  Ours started with a weird weather phenomenon as Hurricane Ophelia bought sands in from the Sahara, turning the sun and sky orange.  Very eerie.........

I'm sharing my finished Advent Calendar and a new kit with you today.  It has an oval diorama in the centre that you can build up and alter in so many different ways and two sets of twelve boxes for treats.  As you know I'm a paper girl and altered my sample in papers from the gorgeous Winter Wonderland collection by Graphic 45.  I love the blend of the Christmas colours with the brown in this paper line, and all the imagery you can cut out.   As we do I cut out far more than I ended up using.  Here's a few more pics

Seasons Album Set and Stand

Afternoon everyone, I hope you've enjoyed your weekend. I'm excited to be able to share the finished Seasons Album Set with you as promised.  The project took me on a colourful journey through the year as I worked on each of the albums, with birds singing, warm flowers blooming, leaves falling on pumpkins and all the chill that winter brings.  I loved how the designs of the patterned papers and the solids work together to give a really vintage blend of gorgeousness.
Take a peek at the video below to see the full project.

If you've fallen in love with this paper collection and fancy making the album set yourself I've put together a PDF Tutorial and On Line Workshop for the project.  The stand, with it's handy drawer has been designed to hold my Shadow Box sized albums plus a little extra room for four full albums to sit in.
I altered my sample in two 12 x 12 Autumn and one 12 x 12 Autumn Collective sheets from the Seasons collection (my favourite time of the year :-)  and is available as a separate kit.  Links to all the products are below;

Well my lovelies, look at the time....... dinner needs to be cooked.  Enjoy the rest of your day, thanks for calling by and I look forward to catching up again during the week.

The first is a Seasons album set and stand.  Altered in papers from the new 'Seasons' collection by Graphic 45 it's a great way to capture a year of your favourite memories or maybe seasons from different years past.
I got out my teeny weeny scissors and cut out the gorgeous floral wreaths for the front of each album while watching TV, and loved how they popped off the page from their black backgrounds. Here's a closer view of the album covers:

My Little Paper Doll Book

My Little paper Doll Book Clare Charvill Graphic 45
Hello there and happy Sunday to you.  I'm sharing my latest make here on my blog and You Tube channel today.  The latest Penny's Paper Doll Family collection by G45 took me back to when I was small and fun filled days cutting out the paper dolls that came in the Twinkle comic - my regular weekly read ........ shout if you remember it too:-)
This relatively quick and easy little book to make as a great gift or stocking filler for any little person who loved to dress up paper dolls.   the book has two pockets, magnetic dolls that can be mounted on the pocket fronts and lots of outfits to dress them up in and colour too.
There's enough paper in the pads (I used sheets from the 12 x 12 and the large patterns and solids pad) to make a few of these little books too. If you'd love to make one yourself I've put together a PDF Tutorial to go with the project available from my website via this link
If you'd like to see the full project just click on the video below.
Our October Giveaway will launch on Wednesday so do call back then and leave a comment to take part.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.  Thanks for calling by and look forward to catching up again soon.

A card from the craft room: 1

Hero Arts Card Kit July
We all love to make a card or two and now I've got the space to store them I've been making a few myself.  For todays cards I used the July Hero Art card kit and 'The Stampers Friend' by Be Creative.  It's the latest stamp platform to hit the market - thank you Justin and Gordon for mine.  I love the colour, the notched ruler, the non slip base and the four magnets (rather than two), perfect to hold your card in place while stamping.  It has a great price point too which makes it a valued addition to your crafty stash without breaking the bank.
I used Archival black ink to stamp my chosen images onto white 160gsm card, and Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers to colour in the images.  I love these pens and seem to be using them more and more these days.
Once my images were coloured in I used the co ordinating dies and my Baby Blue die cutting machine to cut them out.  (Does anyone know where you can get replacement cutting platforms from for this machine? - I so need new ones)
I could fussy cut out the images, but really like the bevelled edge you get when they are die cut. It makes your card look a little more professional (me thinks :-)
I used a piece of purple/white checked card for the backgrounds on the first tow cards (above) and then cut the last strip down to 5 3/4" to use on this one. Working on a white card piece cut at 2 1/4" x 4" I mounted the large bouquet on foam pads, bent the stalk downwards and stuck it in place.  I did the same three single sprigs of lavender and added them over the large bouquet, sticking the stalks down to the white card with a little glue.  I used foam strips on the undersides of the jug so it sat over the stalks and then dded the bow to finish the bouquet.
Once I'd layered the white card over the checked strip card I added the sentiment, also mounted on an off-cut of the checked card and foam pads and ta da! my card was finished.
Hero Arts Card 2 July Kit
Here's a close up of my three cards made from the July Hero Arts stamp set.

DIY SOS in minature

Introducing 29 Park Lane
Morning my lovelies, I thought I'd share something a little different with you this morning. When Oli and Sophie moved into their new house, this undecorated dolls house arrived in their spare room. It belongs to Sophies mum, was a bit battered and has been waiting for some TLC for about five years. Lorriane wondered, as I'm a bit crafty whether I could do something with it for her.  'Of course' I said, 'what would you like it to look like?' 'A proper roof, and a red door' she said.  We had an interesting couple of hours in our local dolls house shop and the dolls house arrived on my kitchen table.
Stage 1 - the outside
As a total newby to the world of minature I did a bit of research and then set about decorating the outside of the house. Apparently most dolls houses come flat packed and you paint the pieces before assembling them.  Not this one.  It took a few days to get to this stage (almost as long as it took to paint my workroom lol!!), - the roof being the biggest challenge.  All I kept thinking was don't mess up Claireeeeee!

Then it was time to tackle the inside. Stairs were painted, paper went up and skirting's and covings fixed in place.  I just have to do some filing in around the ceilings, add a couple of lights (I dropped one), and stick the last of the carpet down in the upstairs rooms and then it's ready to hand back to Loraine to fill up. The kiddies have nick named us the Borrowers lol!!!
I really enjoyed the project and look forward to seeing the rooms come to life as Lorraine fills them up.   For now the house is still sitting on my kitchen table but now it has a character all of its own. :-) Cx
